Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. They are compressed on your own device; nothing leaves the building.
Which format should I pick?
WebP gives small files that every modern browser shows. AVIF is even smaller but slower to wash. JPG opens everywhere. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency.
What does quality change?
Lower quality means a smaller file with softer details. Around 75 most photos look the same as the original. PNG ignores it because it is lossless.
What if an image does not get smaller?
If the result is not lighter in the same format, you get your original back, marked “Already clean”.
Can I make big photos smaller in size too?
Yes: tick “Resize to fit 1920 px”. Smaller photos are never enlarged.
